Want to know a really simple way to get new sales leads?
Simply use your email signature.
Think of how many emails you send every day… That’s how many opportunities you have to let potential customers know what you offer.
Remember that your email signature is part of your identity and branding, so use it to let the world know more about you, such as:
- promote special offers
- advertise new products or services
- publicize a workshop or event
- include your email address
- include a link to your blog or website
- link to some of your social media profiles
- add a profile photo or a promotional image (in colour as these are more memorable)
Remember though that some email strip images from emails, and also that adding too much content to your signature may trip the spam alert… It’s all about getting it balanced. No need to add images of your entire portfolio, just a URL to the page will do.
With mobile devices usage still growing, it’s also best to keep your signature simple, 3 or 4 lines is generally enough.
Setting up an email signature is easy, yet I see a lot of emails come through with no signature, no phone number.
Or else it’s something just cobbled together that looks unprofessional.
Setting up your email signature
You can manually set it up in your email program or on your phone. Or use an online tool to create a fancy signature, there are many options available.
