Do you ever wish you could simply use the expertise and skills you already have to build your business?
Build it into something you are passionate about, something that will create positive change?
The likely answer is ‘Yes’, and I’m here to tell you that you can.
I get to do this every day when I work with solopreneurs to create growth, and to action affordable, effective marketing campaigns. No more ‘Oh no, it’s Monday’ for me!
And if I can do it, you can do it!
[ Excuse me while I talk about me, myself and I here for a moment, the rest of this website is all about you… ]
I hail from sunny Belgium, and I travelled far and wide before settling in Australia, lucky me!
I’ve been a translator, a teacher, a trainer and I have worked in marketing, event management, admin and sales, from 5-star hotels to real estate, and everything in between.
But after I completed a Business degree while working and raising a child, I started to get frustrated with the lack of flexibility at work, until it hit me: it was up to me to create the job I always wanted. Know how that feels?
So in 2011 I started my own business, and it has been a rollicking adventure ever since!
Fast forward to today, Brisbane, Australia.
I have created the job I always wanted. No matter what day of the week it is, it’s always a great day!
As well as consulting I run workshops about mindset and happiness, life-work balance, business success, social media and marketing. It’s a great way to get to know like-minded locals who are ready to grow their business too.
I have Shiny New Object Syndrome, courtesy of Bipolar and a very active, creative brain, and I love learning, and sharing this with others. So I’ve just started a Post-Grad in Positive Psychology, and have completed both a Cert 3 and a Cert 4 in Micro and Small Business Management.
I also get super excited at nerdy stuff, like new apps, or systems that will simplify a client’s marketing strategy. I’m a very visual person, and I relish seeing familiar things with a fresh eye. My colleague tells me I’m a bit of a nerd… I think she means it as a compliment?
I’m also an introvert. What this means is I do like people, really, I do, and I have a large circle of friends who share my passions. BUT recharging my batteries involves some quiet time. And I need this because when my little brain has had a rest from the madding crowd, I’m all the more creative.
My ideal day includes a morning focused on projects, a quick lunch over social media or a business book (major nerd…), then time for the gym or for walking the dog, with a couple of hours to write a blog or listen to a podcast that will help a client move towards their goal!
Yes, you can build a successful business on your terms, and still make a good living.
I believe in ‘99%’ because, while we all aim to do our best, ‘perfect imperfection’ is good enough in my view. After all, a rose with a tiny spot is still a beautiful, fragrant flower…
There’s not one word that really describes what I do, though ‘facilitator’ comes to mind.
In French (my first language) ‘facile’ means easy, and that’s really what I do for people or groups looking to attract more clients or grow their reach: I use my skills to make it easier for you to market what you do.
So we could get together over a coffee and…
- discuss and plan a marketing campaign for your business or event
• boost your Facebook marketing
• (re)build your website
• rewrite your ad and web copy
• go over your tech needs
• schedule a workshop to help you learn
• draft a blog or a newsletter for your tribe
and much, much more…
A great day at work is when my client comes to a session and tells me how they have had an insight that will move their business forward, while staying true to their values and personal goals.
In my ‘spare’ time I do pro-bono marketing for a couple of nonprofit groups. I looove connecting people in my community, as together we can do so much more!
I’m a passionate supporter of women running their own business, as I believe we have much to bring to the business world. I also contribute to KIVA, another one of my ‘things’.
So here we are. And if you read this far, and you feel confused and overwhelmed when thinking of your marketing, please get in touch. I’m a really nice person (my friends all say that), and I’d love to help!
